LAST DAYS TO MAKE TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS TO SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN
The famous Red Kettles may not be in front of your favorite store anymore, but you can still make your donation to The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Christmas campaign. The campaign itself will run through January 31, but if you want to get in that 2014 tax deductible donation you’ll need to do so but this Wednesday, December 31. There are several ways you can make your donation:
- Go to SalvationArmyIndiana.org and make your donation online through our secure gateway
- Call 1-800-SAL-ARMY and make a donation using your credit card
- Mail your check to The Salvation Army, 3100 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis IN, 46208
As of December 24, The Salvation Army was at nearly 73% of its $3.3 million goal. Although that’s about 4% higher than last year’s Christmas Eve total, this year’s overall goal is up $100,000 from last year. “We can’t thank this community enough for getting us this far and we know they will carry us the rest of the way to our goal,” says Major Bob Webster, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army’s Indiana Division. “Our donors know it’s not about giving to The Salvation Army, it’s giving to those in need through The Salvation Army.”
The money raised will go toward supporting Salvation Army programs and services throughout central Indiana. Last year, through the generosity of Hoosiers, The Salvation Army was able to provide more than 107,000 safe nights of shelter and 509,000 meals for those in need in our community. About 83 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to Salvation Army programs in the community where the money is raised.
