More than 1,200 people crowded the Northwest corner of Monument Circle today to support The Salvation Army’s Apple Fest. Patrons enjoyed hot apple cobbler with ice cream, orchard fresh apples, and lunch items from Applebee’s Restaurant’s including cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, oriental chicken salads, apple cider, and apple smooties.

Live music was provided by The Fins, a local band from Kokomo Indiana. “I think the music really helped this event. People could hear the music all around the Circle and when they came to see what was going on they stayed for lunch” said Crissy Testa, Special Events Coordinator for The Salvation army.

All proceeds went to support The Salvation Army’s programs to fight homelessness in Indianapolis. You can find out more about The Salvation Army’s homeless prevention and other programs here.
