Celebrate over 125 years of Salvation Army service in The United States during National Salvation Army week, May 11-17 2008. Special events are planned at Salvation Army units around the nation including right here in Indiana. Some of the Indiana events are highlighted below.

The Salvation Army in Monroe County community will celebrate the partnerships that exist which ensure that those in need have access to the services that improve the quality of life for all without discrimination. Special events include: Donut Day – May 13 at 9:00am, Salvation Army Volunteers Rock! – May 15 at 6:00pm, Repurposing Juried Art Show – May 15 at 6:00pm, Salvation Army Block Party – May 16 at 3:30pm, Salvation Army Week Praise Service – May 18 11:00am. The Salvation Army Flag will be flying over City Hall all week, and there will be both a City and a County proclamation made, recognizing National Salvation Army Week. Major Mark Litherland will be addressing the City Council with the state of The Salvation Army in Columbus, highlighting 117 years of service to the community. Fort Wayne
On May 13, The Salvation Army will hold a Thank-a-Thon and Open House from 4:30 pm-7:00 pm. May 16 is Salvation Army night at the Fort Wayne Wizards game. The Salvation Army Canteen will be on site and Major Mark Welsh will be throwing out the opening pitch and doing the play-by-play for the first 3 innings. On May 15, The Salvation Army, 107.9 The Track, and Two Men and a Truck will team up for “Ramp To Camp”, a fundraising event which sends at-risk youth to summer camp. For more information visit SACamp.org/RampToCamp.

New Albany
