Marsh Supermarkets made a $5,000 donation to The Salvation Army yesterday in memory of long time Salvation Army bell ringer, Priscilla Gill. The presentation took place at the O’Malia’s Food Market on 126th and Gray Rd. where Priscilla would ring every Christmas season. Marsh Supermarkets President and CEO Joe Kelley presented the check to Major John Turner, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army in Indiana.
Priscilla Gill was a bell ringer for The Salvation Army for more than 40 years. She passed away in July at the age of 83. “She was a woman of great generosity,” said Major Beckie Stearns of The Salvation Army. “She brought joy and happiness to everyone she met and she will be greatly missed.” To honor Priscilla’s dedication to serving others, The Salvation Army has created the Priscilla Gill Award which will be given each year to The Salvation Army bell ringer who embodies her spirit.
