If the WIBC Radiothon wasn’t enough this weekend, a national toy collection with Walmart and an afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium were thrown in as well.

The WIBC Radiothon for The Salvation Army Bed & Bread Club broadcasted live from Sullivan Hardware and Garden. Today’s broadcast included live performances from various Indianapolis artists and groups.

On air talent and sponsors shared their own Salvation Army stories. These stories, along with large surprise donations and sponsor matches had the $150,000 Radiothon goal surpassed by early evening. Of course a new goal was quickly set and it was a simple one — make this the largest fundraising Radiothon to date.

A secondary goal for Radiothon was to gain 1,000 Bed & Bread Club members. The exact numbers are still pending.

Just remember, you can pledge by calling the Ricker’s Phone Bank at 877-717-3223 or by stopping by Circle Centre Mall during mall hours on Sunday. Doing some Christmas shopping while you’re there? Get your gifts wrapped by our volunteers for a donation.

During the broadcast, volunteers spent the day at area Walmart stores collecting new toy donations for the Fill the Truck event. With help from Two Men and a Truck and Morse Moving, all the toys were collected from the Walmart locations and added to the Toy Shop pool.

As Radiothon finishes its last day tomorrow, volunteers will meet with WISH TV staff before the Colts game for the WISH Tree toy collection. If you’re heading to the game, bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation. Save your change at the concession. Bell Ringers will be stationed inside the stadium during the game as well.
