Drizzle smizzle — no amount of rain can spoil Radiothon!
At 6 a.m., the WIBC Radiothon for The Salvation Army Bed & Bread Club kicked off its 18th year. By 8:30 p.m., a little more than a third of the $150,000, three-day goal was in.
To date, corporate partners and WIBC listeners have helped raise more than $1,668,000, and in 2012, The Salvation Army hopes to raise hundreds of thousands more.
This year the focus will be on the Bed & Bread Club. The Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread Club is made up of people like you who have decided to take the matter of hunger and homelessness in their community into their own hands. That’s why there are more than 100 Bed & Bread Clubs located all over the country — all with the same mission: to provide food and shelter to the hungry and homeless.
By pledging as little as $10 per month — or $120 per year — you can help The Salvation Army provide food, shelter and other necessities so struggling individuals can get back on their feet. It is our goal to have at least 1,000 Bed & Bread Club members by the end of Radiothon on Sunday.
You can check the Walmart Tote Board for real-time Radiothon totals and even special messages. Make sure you pay close attention, special prize package drawings will be held throughout each day. Make your pledge by calling the Ricker’s Phone Bank at 877-717-3223.
