Toy time is approaching!

ToyShop 2012The Salvation Army is currently recruiting community businesses and organizations to participate in our annual Salvation Army Toy Shop. The Toy Shop campaign is how The Salvation Army collects and distributes Christmas toys to children who would otherwise go without. Indiana’s poverty rate is more than 14 percent — a number that includes thousands of children who share in the struggles of their parents and caregivers. We know the need this year will be overwhelming, but we have faith. Thanks to everyone who participated in last year’s toy drive, The Salvation Army was able to serve 2,205 children in 839 families. What a success! Like every year, our goal is to help every family, but in order to do so, we count on and need the support of generous donors and volunteers.

We want you!

Setting up a toy drive is simple and can be done at your convenience. Email your contact information to Stefanie Simpson at [email protected] and she will contact you to schedule a drop-off or pick-up date between December 8 and December 12. The toys will be given away to eligible families during our all-day Salvation Army Toy Shop at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Thursday, December 18. The Salvation Army hopes you will consider being a part of this wonderful event, because every child deserves to feel the love and joy of Christmas.
