Indianapolis — The Salvation Army will kick off its annual Red Kettle Christmas Campaign with a public ceremony today, Thursday November 10, at 11 AM. The event will be held in the center court of Castleton Square Mall, just outside of Macy’s.
The goal for this year’s campaign is $3.5 million. The money raised will go toward supporting Salvation Army programs and services throughout central Indiana. Soon The Salvation Army Red Kettle, one of the most recognizable symbols of Christmas, will be appearing at more than 175 locations throughout central Indiana. You can help The Salvation Army by making your donation at one of these locations, by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY, or by texting the word HOOSIER to 41444 on your mobile device.
You can also help by volunteering to ring a bell at a kettle location near you. Just go to RegisterToRing.com and sign up to ring a bell at a time and location that’s convenient for you. To find out about other seasonal volunteer opportunities, visit our Volunteer Page.
Last year, through the generosity of Hoosiers, The Salvation Army was able to provide more than 113,800 safe nights of shelter and 468,000 meals for those in need in our community. With your help, we will again be able to serve our neighbors in need in 2017.
