The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services team was quick to the scene of the tanker truck explosion that rocked businesses and neighborhoods near the I-69 / I-465 interchange late Thursday morning. The team served over 100 meals and 400 snacks as well as beverages, to State Highway Patrol officers, firefighters, Indianapolis City Police, Marion County Police, and INDOT officials over six hours yesterday afternoon.

The explosion caused structural damage to the freeway overpass and road closures are expected through Friday.  The Salvation Army will remain on call and available should there services be needed again.
