The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services is responding to the recent flooding in the northern part of the state. The Salvation Army Canteen out of Lafayette will be assessing damage throughout Tippecanoe County as well as Remington, Montecello, and other northern Indiana communities.
The mobilization comes in response to the recent rain storms which caused flooding throughout northern Indiana forcing hundreds of families to evacuate their homes.
Last evening, Salvation Army volunteers stocked the Canteen with food and water to prepare it to serve those in need today. Volunteers will also be sorting clothing today for several Remington families who fled their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
