For the fifth year in a row, Sam’s Club is teaming up with Off the Field, the professional football players’ wives organization, and the Salvation Army to make the holidays bright for needy families across the country. This year, they add a new element and kick off the holiday season by decorating shelters in select communities.   Sam’s Club associates and Salvation Army volunteers ushered in the holidays alongside Indy’s first snow by decorating The Salvation Army’s Women and Children’s Shelter using holiday decorations and surprise gifts donated by the local Sam’s Club locations.

Volunteers came to the shelter armed with snacks and tools to transform the lunch and lobby areas with trees, wreaths and giant nutcracker. Before the crew began decorating, they heard about the shelter’s service and were thanked by Indiana’s Divisional Commander, Major John Turner.

This is the fifth year that Sam’s Club, Off the Field and the Salvation Army are working together on “Dream Drive” to bring happy holidays to needy families. Early in December, players’ wives will go to Sam’s Club locations to shop for families selected by the Salvation Army in local communities. The families will receive gifts of clothing, household products and toys, as well as food and gift cards from Sam’s Club for their holiday meals.
