The Salvation Army Ruth Lilly Women and Children’s Center is in desperate need of bus pass donations. A recent loss in funding means the city can no longer provide enough passes to help residents in the shelter facility.

Social Services Director Pam Fleck said the shelter used to get enough passes to last three weeks at a time.

“We need the passes so our residents can attend medical appointments, look for jobs, go to work, take children to school or to get to school themselves,” Fleck said. “Without the pass for transportation, they have to find their own transportation. If they can’t, then they could risk losing their employment.”

About 75 women need help with transportation.
