Stacy Robinson accepts the grant award on behalf of The Salvation Army.

The Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives awarded the Monroe County Salvation Army a $7,500 Good Works Indiana Strengthening Families Grant.  The grant award will be utilized to provide free child care to TANF eligible Monroe County families so that parents can conduct job searches and maintain employment while their children remain in a safe and nurturing environment.

Twenty-six Indiana programs; noted for their creativity, diversity of collaborative partnerships and an understanding of the grant parameters, were selected from the pool of applicants. The total award amount was $237,505.95, with individual awards averaging $9,000.00. “Now more than ever, it is necessary that grants are about more than just reassigning money,” states Derek Trovillion, grant coordinator.
