Aside from the beautiful weather we’ve had early this year, another sure sign that Spring has arrived  is the busloads of seniors coming to enjoy a meal and entertainment. April 13th marked the annual Older Adult Spring Luncheon at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. It’s always a joy to serve the 500+ seniors who come from around Central Indiana for fried chicken and all the fixings to go with it.

While waiting for the meal to be served, several sing-a-long sessions were led by local barbershop quartet, The Heritage Quartet – affiliated with Circle City Sound.

Major Barbara MacLean shared scripture with the seniors to go along with this year’s theme – The Rebirth of Spring – as a reminder that Christ is always wanting a spiritual rebirth for all of us.

Serving the seniors is a ministry that is carried out with a luncheon in both the spring and during the Christmas season. Guests come by special invitation through the local Salvation Army corps in their community.
