On the heels of our WIBC Radiothon, we’re switching gears this week. It’s time to bring some Christmas magic to Indy families who find themselves unable to provide gifts for their children. Thanks to the generous donations from individuals and businesses, 800 families will be represented at Toy Shop on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Collections for Toy Shop  have been underway since mid-November at Huntington Bank, Ed Martin Automotive, MCL Restaurant & Bakery as well as special collection events at Lucas Oil,  Hinkle Fieldhouse and The Circle City Riders 17th Annual Toy Run. The Salvation Army has seen an increase in requests for assistance this holiday season and Hoosiers have responded generously with over 6,000 toys for Indy’s children!

WISH-TV and the Salvation Army have partnered since 1997 to collect toys to be distributed to families in need during the holidays. We couldn’t have transported all those toys without the help of Two Men And A Truck! They’ll also be transporting toys this week to the fairgrounds to help us get things set-up for the parents to shop for gifts.

This holiday season, AT&T is also supporting our efforts to warm the hearts of Indianapolis children in need by donating more than $15,000 in hats, scarves, gloves, and other items that parents can receive at Toy Shop.
