Today, The Salvation Army kicked-off its largest fund raising campaign of the year, the Tree of Lights. The $2.75 million goal is the largest in the history of the Tree of Lights campaign. The money raised will go towards supporting Salvation Army programs and services throughout Central Indiana.
Mayor Elect Greg Ballard spoke at the event asking Hoosiers to support The Salvation Army this Christmas Season. WISH-TV8’s Eric Halvorson returned as honorary Tree of Lights Chairman and emceed the event. Also participating in the event were Terri Stacey and Jake Query from the WIBC Morning Show, St. Richard’s singers, The Salvation Army Brass Ensemble, along with corporate sponsors and other supporters of The Salvation Army.
This year’s Tree of Lights Tree sponsor, Wal-Mart, made the first donation of the season with a check for $7,500. You can view photos from the Tree of Lights Kick-Off by clicking here.
